Goodwood Motor Circuit
Veloce 2021 was a spectacular day where the stars and the cars came out to shine at Goodwood.
The day started when we reunited Derek Bell with the Harrods McLaren F1 GTR that he drove with his son Justin and Andy Wallace to 3rd place at Le Mans in ’95. Damon Hill took the wheel of a Ferrari 250 GTO before later swapping out into a Jaguar C-Type. Marino Franchitti drove an original XKSS, which lapped alongside a D-Type.
Other cars included the 1910 Fiat S76 ‘Beast of Turin’, 1930 Bentley Speed 6 team car, 1932 Alfa 8C Monza, a brace of Cobras, a 1973 911 RSR, Ferrari F40 and Enzo, Pagani Zonda F and a McLaren P1

This year’s cars included the 1910 Fiat S76 Beast of Turin, 1930 Bentley Speed Six that raced that year at Le Mans, 1932 Alfa 8C Monza, Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar C-Type, D-Type and XKSS, Ferrari 250 GTO, Stirling Moss’ Ferrari 250 SWB, Ferrari 330 LMB, The ‘Hairy Canary’ Cobra, Shelby Daytona Coupe, Lamborghini Miura and Countach, Ferrari Daytona Spider, and the 2002 Bentley Speed 8 Le Mans car.
The Story of Veloce
In just 4 short years Veloce has established itself as the one of the truly great motoring experiences. It is akin to being at The Goodwood Revival, except instead of just watching famous racing drivers flying round the track in iconic and priceless cars, you’re right in there with them. The brain child of collector and philanthropist Peter Neumark and V group founder Chris Bucknall, the concept immediately caught the attention of lead sponsor HFMC Wealth CEO Jeremy Hoyland, and the wheels of Veloce began to roll.
The first running of the event was in 2017, when the driver line-up included Derek Bell, Gerhard Berger, Andy Wallace and Darren Turner, and the kernel of a great format emerged. Since then the event has attracted other illustrious drivers and cars, and it went on to win ‘Best Emerging Event’ at Octane Magazine’s prestigious International Historic Motoring Awards in 2019.
