Monaco to Saint-Tropez
The Derek Bell Tour set off from Cap d’Antibes on Wednesday 29th September, before heading to Monaco for a night of fun at Flavio Briatore’s eatery, Cipriani. The 20 cars taking part included a 1958 Bentley S1 Continental DHC and the new GT Speed, a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB, a Daytona in Blu Chiaro Metallizato, 3 458 Speciales and an 812 GTS, a Lancia Integrale and wide range of 911s new and old.
After 4 days spent meandering under blue skies through the finest Provencal scenery, staying each night at the very best hotels in the region, the posse rolled into Saint-Tropez for a closed-road parade around the village. The parade came to an end in the port, which was brought to a grinding halt as the streets filled with well-wishers admiring the array of cars, which by now had been joined by 2 Dallaras, Aston DB5 and a Ferrari Daytona Spyder.
Finally it was time for the inaugural Rendez-Vous Riviera, a day-long party hosted by Jodie Kidd and Derek Bell at the impossibly glamourous Saint-Tropez Polo Club.
